Moldavian Metallurgical Plant has announced that in May 2009 it exported 14,850 tonnes of rolled steel products, including 5,800 tonnes to non CIS countries and 9,050 tonnes to CIS countries.

In May 2009, MMZ carried out maintenance and reconstruction works in line with earlier scheduled investment programs.

MMZ plans as soon as possible to completely empty its rolling mill stocks which consist of recently produced rolled products.

The plant is expecting the arrival of a bulk quantity of scrap supplies, which will help it meet its 40,000 tonnes June 2009 production schedule.
