Russian billionaire Mr Alisher Usmanov has increased his share in Arsenal football club to more than 26 %. The amount of the deal is confidential.

According to BBC, Mr Usmanov became the shareholder of the club in 2007 having bought 14.65 % of its shares at GBP 75 million.

Mr Usmanov is a well known Russian businessman, the owner of the Metalloinvest holding which includes the largest mining and processing plants such as Stoilenskiy and Mikhailovskiy and Oskol Electrometallurgical plant and Ural Steel plant.
