Ukrainian Journal quoted Naftogaz said in a statement that Ukraine Naftogaz has transferred USD 1.004 billion to Russian gas major Gazprom for the natural gas it imported in December 2011.

The statement said "Every month, in a timely manner and in full volume, Naftogaz Ukrayiny fulfills its obligations before OJSC Gazprom on payments for imported natural gas."

According to Naftogaz, the price Ukraine paid for gas in Q4 2011 stood at around USD 400 per 1,000 cubic meters.
