Ukrainian Journal quoted Naftogaz Ukrayiny said small Latvian broker had been selected as winner of tender to deliver a USD 400 million offshore oil rig to the company.
The tender is the first one after media allegations earlier this year of massive government corruption that may have accompanied the purchase of a similar oil rig in March.
Rigas Kugu Buvetava of Latvia was selected after offering to sell the oil rig for USD 399.8 million. Rigas Kugu outbid two small British-register traders Highway Investment Processing LLP and Diafall Limited. Highway Investments offered the oil rig at USD 400.3 million and Diafall offered the rig at USD 405 million.
