According to an informed source on the market, Naftogaz Ukrainy in pursuance of a ruling by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has returned about 11 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Swiss RosUkrEnergo AG.
He said that "As of early April about 11 bcm of gas had been returned."
The source said that the remaining 1.1 billion cubic meters of gas has to be returned by the end of the 2010/2011 heating season, or by the end of May.
As reported, Naftogaz CEO Yevhen Bakulin in early March said that Naftogaz Ukrainy had returned about seven billion cubic meters of natural gas to Swiss-registered gas trader RosUkrEnergo.
He also said that the return of gas to RosUkrEnergo would not affect the provision of domestic consumers with gas, as well as gas transit through Ukrainian territory.
