Ukrainian News Agency reported that the Naftohaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company finished 2008 with a net profit of UAH 11,651.661 million.

The company announced this in a statement, a text of which Ukrainian News has obtained. Naftohaz Ukrainy increased the net revenue by 134.59% or UAH 28,986.175 million to UAH 50,522.783 million as compared with 2007.

The company finished October to December 2008 with a net profit of UAH 9,210,089 million and increased the net revenue by 94.88% or UAH 8,015.02 million to UAH 16,462.245 million as compared with October-December 2007.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Naftohaz Ukrainy finished 2007 with a net profit of UAH 3,124.159 million and reduced revenues by 22.24% by 4,942.61 million to UAH 17,277.870 as compared with 2006.

Naftohaz Ukrainy holds monopoly rights to the transportation of natural gas by transit gas pipes, transportation of oil by oil pipelines, and is Ukraine's largest producer and seller of natural gas, and also the biggest oil producer.
