RIA Novosti citing Mr Sergei Chemezov head of Russia state owned hi-tech conglomerate Russian Technologies which owns 25% of AvtoVAZ as saying that Japan Nissan may buy 10% of Russia largest car maker AvtoVAZ in the first or second quarter of 2011 with cash.

He said that "Russian Technologies will sell four percent of its shares, and Troika Dialog will sell another 6%. The deal will take place in spring."

Troika Dialog the Renault-Nissan alliance and Russian Technologies each hold 25% of AvtoVAZ.
