
The mill is designed for production of round and shaped tubes of different cross sections used in machine building, construction industry, furniture manufacturing and utilities. Its capacity 50,000 tonnes of pipes per year.
The opening ceremony was attended by Director of Public Relations, Mr Alexander UMC Castravet and Executive Director of the Almetyevsk Pipe Plant, Mr Alexander Tokarev and Deputy Chief Executive Mr Almetyevsk Sergey Dudkin.
Mr Alexander Tokarev said "The launch of the camp is a continuation of the modernization program ATZ, aimed at improving and expanding production capacity. Particularly pleased to note that the new mill is one of the most modern in the world. Due to the expansion of capacity, we can significantly increase the supply to our customers and will reach into new markets."
Mr Alexander Castravet said "Over the past seven years the company has invested over 150 billion rubles in the development and construction of new facilities at Vyksa Metallurgical Plant, Trubodetal, Foundry and Rolling Facility and Almetyevsk Pipe Plant. Today's launch of the camp is part of the course aimed at improving product quality and productivity, reducing costs and energy costs, create better working conditions, all of which contributes to the competitiveness of products UMC."
