
Interfax reported that LLC PCMA Rus, the Kaluga joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroen and Japan's Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will officially begin making automobiles under a complete production cycle on Wednesday, two years after it assembled its first vehicle.
French automaker Peugeot which in mid-April began pre-serial production of the Peugeot 408, developed for the Russian market plans to produce only this model at the PCMA Rus plant in Kaluga starting in July. Citroen also has plans to produce a new model for the Russian market in Kaluga.
The plant said "Over the coming months, Citroen and Mitsubishi models will be added to the line of automobiles produced with serial welding, painting and body assembly."
The plant in 2012 expects to maintain production at last year's level and assemble about 44,000 vehicles under three brands.
