Rautaruukki has opened a new sales office in Kazakhstan and now has operations in 25 countries. Expanding the sales network into Kazakhstan will enable Ruukki to improve the quality of its customer service and shorten delivery times. Expansion of our business area is an important milestone and brings Ruukki closer to its strategic intent of becoming Europe’s leading metal-based solutions provider to customers in construction and in the lifting, handling and transportation industry.

Mr Saku Sipola president of Ruukki Construction said that “The dynamic Kazakhstan market is interesting and our new sales office there brings us within even closer reach of our customers. Expanding the sales network eastwards further supports Ruukki’s strategy of strengthening its position in CIS countries and in the Central Asian construction market.”

The construction market in Kazakhstan is showing strong growth and is estimated to be worth around EUR 8 billion a year, or about the same as the combined construction market of the Baltic states.
