
According to the data issued by ASM Holding which monitors Russia auto industry, in the H1 2010 the country auto output saw an increase of 65.3%YoY to 564,590 units.
Accordingly, in H1 2010, Russia passenger car output went up by 68.7% to 489,076 units, its truck output increased by 52.2% to 59,223 units, while its bus output rose by 30.2% to 16,539 units. During the period in question, the output of foreign passenger car brands produced in Russia increased by 85%YoY to 260,198 units, ie 53.2% of the country's total car output, thus exceeding for the first time the output of Russian domestic brands which in H1 increased by 53.3%YoY to 228,878 units.
Russia total sales of passenger cars in January to June 2010 amounted to 752,800 units, finally changing from decrease to an increase of 1.1%YoY.
The AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee said in its statement that "The interest of potential customers is rising and a growing number of inquiries is being received. But to what extent this market growth is stable will be determined by the results of the autumn months, as autumn usually witnesses the seasonal growth of demand."
