
RIA Novosti reported that the owner of a Siberian hydroelectric power plant where a recent accident killed at least 74 people would replace all damaged generating units by 2014.
State controlled RusHydro which owns the Sayano-Shushenskaya station in Siberia Khakasia Republic said between two and four units would be restored in 2010.
The company earlier said repairing the damage could take up to two years and Mr Sergei Shmatko Energy Minister estimated the cost at over RUB 40 billion.
Earlier on Wednesday a 74th body was discovered at the site of the August 17th accident and one woman is still listed as missing.
The exact cause of the accident remains unknown and the probe is continuing. A special investigations committee is looking into possible violations of work safety regulations.
Russia crumbling infrastructure, underfunded since the 1990s has often been the cause of deadly industrial accidents.
