According to Mr Vladimir Yakunin the president of Russian Railways announced that last month average daily shipment was the highest this year.

In September RZD managed to reduce the decline in the volume of transported goods to 11.3% compared to the same month in 2008.

Mr Yakunin said the average daily shipment amounted 3.299 million tonnes in September which is 37% more than in January 2009. In January to September 2009 the decline in shipment totaled 19.5%. The October should be even better with 3.300 million tonne of goods transported.
