
Itar-Tass quoted Mr Sergei Ivanov Deputy Prime Minister of Russia said the Russian government discusses high speed railway communication with Ukraine and Germany with border control en route.
The official said the government considers practicalities of that plan on the route between Moscow and Kiev and also considers the Moscow-Kharkov and Moscow-Berlin routes.
Mr Sergei Ivanov said the first such route will be opened on December 12 between St. Petersburg and Helsinki. This experience, according to him will show how it all works.
He added that “This is in a way an important event and a challenge for controlling agencies, which will have to work in a new way and on an absolutely new basis.”
