According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the first half of the current year Russia registered a 6.3% rise in its rolled steel product output to 31.3 million tonnes up by 4.7% in its crude steel output to 35.7 million tonnes and a 7.7%YoY rise in its pig iron production to 25.5 million tonnes.

In the given period, Russia saw 11.5% decrease YoY in its steel pipe production to 4.7 million tonnes. In addition, in January to June Russia produced 168 million tonnes of coal and 13.7 million tonnes of metallurgical coke up by 5.6%YoY and 0.5%YoY.
