
According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia, in 2011 Russia registered a 2.4%YoY increase in its crude steel production to 68.4 million tonnes.
In the given period, Russia saw a 9%YoY increase in its steel pipe production to 10 million tonnes and a 3.2%YoY rise in its finished steel output to 59.5 million tonnes. The country production of pig iron went up by 0.3%YoY to 48.2 million tonnes during the past year.
In addition, in 2011 Russia produced 334 million tonnes of coal and 104 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate up by 3.8%YoY and 7.9%YoY respectively compared to 2010. In the same period, Russia's metallurgical coke output increased by 1.1%YoY to 27 million tonnes.
