
It is reported that General Electric will supply gas turbines to a new USD 351 million combined cycle plant in Berezniki, an industrial city on the banks of the Kama River in the Ural mountains of Russia.
GE said TGK-9 has agreed to purchase two Frame 6FA gas turbines and two steam generators from GE to power its 220 megawatt plant. GE will also provide technical assistance and on-site training and testing.
According to a TGK-9 statement the turbines have been shipped from France to Russia and are expected to arrive in Berezniki during the second quarter of 2011
The electricity to be produced will be distributed under an agreement between the Russian Ministry of Energy and IES which is Russia largest private power supply and gas Distribution Company and the parent company of TGK-9.
