Severstal Dearborn’s Pickle Line Tandem Cold Mill (PLTCM) reached another milestone by producing 1,000,000 tons since its start-up last August.

The PLTCM is the first continuous cold mill in the US, according to currently available data, to produce 1,000,000 tons within the first year of operation, precisely in 10 months and 27 days.

Mr Bruce Black, Vice President and General Manager, Severstal Dearborn, said, “Achieving this benchmark production level is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the entire team at the PLTCM, high quality of the equipment, as well Severstal’s commitment to workforce training.”

The five stand, six-high, 72" wide PLTCM produces superior quality steel for exposed automotive applications.
