Slowdown signs - Ford switches to operating in two shifts in Russia
Itar-Tass reported that US automaker Ford has switched to operating in two shifts instead of three at its Russian plant in the Leningrad Region town of Vsevolozhsk.
The spokesperson said Ford is adjusting its production schedule to falling car sales in Russia. Russia’s new car sales are expected to more than halve on the year to 1.4 million cars in 2009.
The plant assembles Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo cars.
