Ukrainian Journal citing Mr Oleksandr Starukh the head of Zaporizhia regional state administration as saying that the stoppage of Zaporizhia Aluminum Combine the country's only aluminum smelter, would cause serious financial losses for the Ukrainian economy.

He said that "We counted that the differentiated tariff would cost UAH 400 million to UAH 500 million to the Energy Market, and the stoppage of the plant would lead to losses of UAH 3-4 billion for the Ukrainian economy as a whole."
