Interfax reported that OJSC Russian Railways container transport subsidiary OJSC TransContainer hopes to start up regular deliveries of automotive components to Hyundia plant outside of St Petersburg.
The company container cars from the Port of Busan delivered 50 TEU of freight for the company at Shushary station in the first part of March. The railway service takes almost half the time of seaway transport partially thanks to a quicker transport schedule throughout Russia from the Nakhodka-Vostochnaya Station.
The company said that it plans to attract Japanese automaker with plants in the Northwestern automotive cluster into the transport project.
TransContainer operates heavy-tonnage containers and fitting platforms for transporting cargo, as well as a network of terminals in Russia and Slovakia.
