Summarizing the results of 2009 the UMMC has contributed into expansion of the concentrator OAO Gaisky GOK a mining enterprise of almost RUB 405 million. Moreover in 2010 the company intends to triple investments into this project against figures of 2009.
Mr Sergey Provalov Chief Engineer of GGOK said now Gaisky GOK faces a very serious objective to increase the output of the concentrator.
Looking at the approved project schedule in summer of 2010 the concentrator will have to launch a second stage of ore pretreatment complex. It means that already in 2010 the concentrator plans to enrich 6 million tonnes per year of ore and in 2011 about 7.5 million tonnes per year of ore. Within the second stage of the project they will accomplish construction of semi autogenous grinding building, ore storehouse and recrushing building. Hence, in the follow up of 2009 GGOK investments into the further construction of semiautogenous grinding building will make up approximately RUB 200 million. This amount of investment is stipulated for civil and installation works and also for preparation to install two mills, namely a mill of semiautogenous grinding and a ball mill.
Semiautogenous grinding complex is absolutely new technology of pretreatment of copper sulfide ores that are processed at the concentrator. Introduction of this technology oriented on considerable improvement of ore grinding fineness before flotation will enable to modernize all production areas of the concentrator and first of all, the most expensive one ore pretreatment. Important that GGOK has become the first among all the concentrators of UMMC that implemented such a complex.
Along with concentrator expansion Gaisky GOK solves the problem of reaching the higher copper content in concentrate. At the present moment ore enrichment engineers of GGOK have improved content up to 19%.
