Ukrainian News Agency reported that Ukraine and Russia are intending to discuss revision of gas contracts in Moscow, Russia on June 7th 2011.

Mr Mykola Azarov PM of Ukraine said claims the Russian leadership to have already given assent for considering all questions about the gas supplies and its transit through the territory of Ukraine.

Mr Azarov said that "Today I have undersigned a letter addressed to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Vladimirovitch Putin, in which I set forth the basic arguments and propositions of the Ukrainian side. We expect on the June 7th 2011 to talk over in particular our algorithm of revision of these agreements at the meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian commission for economic cooperation in Moscow."

He stressed that Ukraine was not asking for preferences for itself but was saying that the approach had to be common.
