
Ukraine Ministry of Industrial Policy reports referring to the information of Mr Sergey Grischenko Deputy Minister of Ukraine announced during the plenary session of Ukrainian part of the inter governmental Ukrainian-Chinese commission on industrial and trade cooperation, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises in January to August of current year supplied 1.7 mio tonnes of rolled steel to China whereas in the same period of last year there was no export to China.
Mr Sergey Grischenko said in January to August 2008 about 10% of the Ukrainian steel export volume was supplies to China.
The report said “Resumption of the supplies allowed to partially stabilizing the situation at several enterprises. In particular, it referrers to the problems at the Ilyich Iron and Steel Plant of Mariupol, related to supplies decrease and loss of orders in other markets.
It also said the cooperation with the PCR in the machine building industry in particular, in energy and agriculture, wagon building, aviation and radio electronics.
