
It is reported that Mr Viktor Yuschenko president of Ukraine of has signed a law imposing a ban on opening bankruptcy cases against mining enterprises with a state stake exceeding 25% until January 1st 2013.
As reported, some 378 MPs voted for amending the law on recovering a debtor's paying capacity or declaring it bankrupt on December 23. The mine bankruptcy moratorium was set to expire at the end of 2009.
Included in the list of mining enterprises are mines, pits, quarries, open-pit mines, ore dressing plants and others.
