
Mr Yuriy Boiko, Ukraine's minister of energy and coal industry, said that Ukrainian power plants produce record maximum of electricity amid severe frosts.
He said that Ukraine's power industry operates normally thanks to a sufficient capacity reserve for the first time it generated a record maximum of 32,000 MW. The minister also said that Ukraine would enhance the protection of energy facilities.
According to the instructions of the President, steps are undertaken to increase protection of important objects of the energy system to ensure its reliable operation. All power plants and transmission networks of the United Energy System of Ukraine are operating normally.
