According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company, in 2011 Ukrainian exports of semi-finished steel products decreased by 5.2%YoY to 10.807 million tonnes.

In 2011, Ukraine exported 5.572 million tonnes of steel slabs up by 1.6% while exports of square billets went down by 12.7% to 5.139 million tonnes both compared to 2010. Meanwhile, exports of semi-finished steel products from Ukraine increased by 5.3% in December compared to November rising to 1.029 million tonnes.

On the other hand, in 2011 Ukrainian imports of semi-finished steel products increased by 2%YoY to 476,000 tonnes. In December alone, imports of semi-finished steel products to Ukraine decreased by 22.8%MoM falling to 32,800 tonnes.
