
VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC is studying the possibility of taking part in several projects to manufacture new Russian aircraft.
The corporation press office told RusBusinessNews that the first project would be the manufacture of the short/medium haul MS-21 plane. In November, negotiations were held with the aircraft's developer, the Irkut Research and Production Corporation OJSC at the international Metal Expo 2011.
The second project would be the construction of the Russian short-haul Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger aircraft, developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, CJSC.
VSMPO-AVISMA is also strengthening its ties with Russian engine manufacturers. The corporation plans to sign multiyear contracts with Perm Engine Company and the Ufa Engine-Building Industrial Association.
