It is reported that ANDRITZ has received an order worth EUR 85 million from Bahru Stainless SHN BHD in Malaysia for the supply of stainless steel strip processing equipment including acid regeneration. Production is scheduled to start by the end of 2010.

The order comprises a continuous annealing and pickling line for hot-rolled and cold rolled stainless steel strip, a skin pass mill and a mixed acid regeneration plant.

ANDRITZ will supply the mechanical equipment, furnace and pickling section including ancillary equipment, electrical equipment and automation.

With a capacity of approximately 540,000 tonnes per year, the plant will process strip in the thickness range from 0.7mm to 10 mm and up to 1,600mm wide.
