The Australian Stainless Steel Development Association has released a 68 page Accredited Fabricators Directory. According to the ASSDA, the directory lists all the steel fabricators approved by the association’s Accreditation Scheme. The scheme is said to provide an assurance that listed companies are technically competent industry specialists.
The ASSDA said that the fast growth of the stainless steel industry means there have been many new entrants to the industry. However, stainless steel is expensive, and requires specialist knowledge and practices to make full use of the material.
ASSDA Accreditation is said to recognize and promote best practice. The directory lists a select group of pre qualified expert fabricators, so asset owners and specifiers do not have to deal with guesswork when choosing a fabricator. All the companies listed in the directory have been assessed on quality control procedures, safety management, workshop capability, contamination avoidance and training systems.
