Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported that Allegheny Technologies Inc and United Steelworkers union officials have arrived at a new, tentative four year contract that would cover 3,000 workers at the company's Allegheny Ludlum plants and at a titanium plant in Albany.
The proposed contract will now be presented to union rank and file for a vote.
A previous tentative contract, announced on June 30th 2011, was rejected last week by a 1,358 to 824 margin, forcing the company and USW officials to work on a revised deal.
The existing contract, which was supposed to have expired by now, was extended through August 8th 2011 to allow more time for bargaining.
