
It is reported that stainless export from China returned to be a relatively normal level in September 2008 after a surge in August 2008 resulted from circulation of the tax changes.
The import declined by 12.01% MoM to 131,000 tonnes and export came to 75,100 tonnes down by 30% MoM. Net import of the stainless products dropped 44.08% to 55,800 tonnes.
During January to September 2008 period, China shipped in 1.1971 million tonnes of stainless products down by 27.61% YoY. Import level in September only stood close to average of the year with a rise from August 2008, partly because of transition of the world economic situation.
