BL reported that the Indian railway minister Mr Dinesh Trivedi flagged off the first BEML made stainless steel EMU for suburban trains and the 100 tonne stainless steel wagon to be deployed on the proposed freight corridor.

BEML is making the coaches under licence from its Korean partner, Rotem.
