Shanghai based Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has announced that its stainless steel plant produced 11,700 tonnes of ultra pure ferrite stainless steel slab in August 2012, constituting a new record monthly output.

As stated by Baosteel, ultra pure ferrite stainless steel is applied in the household electrical appliance sector, in automotive exhaust systems and in the elevator sector.
