It is reported that the cold-rolled stainless steel project of Benxi Steel has come to a closure at the end of 2011, fulfilling the blank of stainless production in Dandong, Liaoning.

This cold rolled stainless steel product line with an annual capacity of 190,000 tonnes mainly includes steel strip unit, cold-rolled unit with 20 rollers, pickling units and related equipments. The whole project is officially kicked off on July 4 2009. When completed, the stainless production base will hit the largest one in northeast China.

When the Phase I project is finished and put into operation, it is predicted the mill’s annual sales revenue would be CNY 4 billion to CNY 5 billion with a profit of CNY 250 million and a tax of CNY 12 million. In addition, this project is to stimulate related industries; development and provide jobs.
