
Xinhua News Agency reported, without citing anyone that China announced stricter limits on metal traffic from stainless steel products as part of efforts to boost food safety.
Acceptable lead traffic was cut to 0.01 milligram a square decimeter from 0.2, and nickel traffic was cut to 0.1 milligram a square decimeter from a product based range of 0.2 to 0.6. Limits on chromium and cadmium traffic were also raised.
Metal traffic refers how much heavy metal can be transferred from a heavy metal container to the matter it contains.
