China's high carbon FeCr imports reached 12,616 tonnes in September, the highest record in recent four months, rising 15.3% from August yet diving 40% over last September. Imports of Cr lump and fine ores totaled 695,653 tonnes a month on month increase of 48.9% yet a year on year slump of 30.8%.
An industry player said that "The growth is triggered by price hikes for ferroalloy products. Import volume next month, especially that of Cr ore, will be smaller since high carbon FeCr price stopped rising in early Oct."
