Recently, China's export quotes of stainless steel quotes have surged by USD 50 per tonne, driven by the increased prices in the domestic market.
It's learned that Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group (TISCO), the largest stainless steel producer in China hiked its domestic prices for November 2012 and increased its December 2012 export prices.
Accordingly, most stainless steel manufactures in China have also increased the export prices by around USD 50 per tonne to around USD 2,900 per tonne.
However, traders said that buyers were expecting for lower prices since the market demand still remained weak.
