Chinese stainless steel mills raise FeCr prices for January delivery

It is reported that major stainless steel mills in China have all increased the ferrochrome prices for January 2012 delivery.

Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group, the largest stainless steelmaker in China has set its January 2012 ferrochrome prices at CNY 7,600 per tonne, increased by CNY 200 per tonne from December 2011.

Also, Baosteel Stainless has hiked the ferrochrome prices to CNY 7,650 per tonne for January 2012.

Meanwhile, Jiuquan Steel, one of the major stainless steel producers in the northeast China has increased the ferrochrome prices to CNY 7,600 per tonne for January 2012.

The spot prices of ferrochrome surged to CNY 7,700 to CNY 7,800 per tonne on December 28th 2011, rose by CNY 100 per tonne from a week earlier.
