According to statistics from Stainless Steel Branch of China Special Steel Association, China stainless crude steel output in 2011 gained 12.591 million tonnes up 11.86% or 1.335 million tonnes YoY.

The exports proved to be 2.245 million tonnes with an increment of 46% YoY as for imports total amounts reached 910,000 tonnes down 15.6% from that of last year.

Besides, the apparent consumption was 9.736 million tonnes, growing by 3.57%. In 2011, the degree of self sufficiency of domestic stainless steel achieved 90.75% up by 1.75% from a year earlier.
