Codelco to increase molybdenum output
Chile Codelco, in order to enlarge its molybdenum output, has planned the construction of a new plant at Mejillones port in Chile. The new plant will have a capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year and already underwent an environmental evaluation last September.
Codelco is also planning to purchase several processing equipments for its plants in order to increase the ferromolybdenum processing quantity.
Codelco's molybdenum output totaled 28,000 tonnes in 2007 and its sales were USD 1.8 billion.
