
The Post-Standard reported that Crucible Industries LLC has signed a partnership with Robert Zapp Werkstofftechnik GmbH to sell and market the steel company's Crucible Particle Metallurgy.
The agreement allows the German firm to sell the particularly hard steel used in the automotive, aerospace and tooling industries around the world, with the exception of North America and Japan.
The CPM steel will be made in the mill on State Fair Boulevard. The mill is the only maker of CPM. It also makes stainless and other specialty steels.
Robert Zapp Werkstofftechnik, a part of the Zapp Group, and is located in Ratingen Germany.
JP Industries of Cleveland bought Crucible Industries in October for USD 8 million. The company began making specialty steel late last year after it emerged from bankruptcy and came under new ownership.
