It is reported that the winds of the crisis have started to blow back at Cogne Special Steels.
Not even two months have passed since the VP Mr Roberto Marzorati announced a return to normality, the company is reported to be proceeding with a reorganization of production processes and working.
Mr Marzorati said that "It is undeniable that the unexpected financial crisis that has begun to affect the major world stock markets in July 2010, has had, almost immediately, the negative impact on the economy real, causing a gradual slowdown in transactions in all markets. This situation has unfortunately led to a new climate of uncertainty, as always happens in these cases, and has limited visibility on orders, forcing us to take, right now, the cost reduction measures.”
Among the measures that the company is considering to undertake, include a reduction in the number of fixed term contracts and the activation of ordinary fund for the departments involved. It is also examining the possibility of starting some sort of internal mobility between departments where the workflow is decreasing and the other productive sectors.
