Merafe Resources, South African ferrochrome mining company, said that it has concluded the negotiation with the major stainless steel producers in Europe for the fourth quarter benchmark prices for charge chrome.

The European benchmark prices for charge chrome are at USD 1.10 per pound in fourth quarter, falling by 12% from USD 1.25 per pound in a quarter ago.

Also, the South African mining producers such as Xstrata Alloys have completed the fourth quarter price negotiation for charge chrome at USD 1.18 per pound CIF with Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel, the largest stainless producer in Japan.
