Finnish Outokumpu announced to cut its alloy surcharge for most stainless steel grade this week for June in response to continuously falling nickel prices.

It’s known that the nickel prices have kept falling from the level of USD 22,000 per tonne in middle of February to below USD 17,000 per tonne recently. However, the firm hiked its alloy surcharge for the ferritic grades due to higher chrome prices.

After the adjustment, its alloy surcharges for 304 grades are at EUR 1,420 per tonne that for 316 grades is at EUR 2,177 per tonne and that for 430 grades is at EUR 529 per tonne.
