It is reported that Swiss stainless steel products distributor is planning to reorganize its warehouses around the company’s headquarters in Zurich. Of three warehouses, Kohler plans to close two in the mid term and to concentrate operations on the extended third site. The distributor has lined up some CHF 20 million for the project

Kohler, which claims to be Switzerland’s largest distributor of stainless steel products, divides its range into flat products, long and hollow products, and fittings and components. In a first step, it will combine the warehouses for flat and long products, fittings and components will follow at a later stage. The move is projected for 2010-11.

Apart from new buildings and on site machinery, investments will cover an upgrade of Kohler’s IT management, which will enable the company to provide further additional services for its customers.
