South Africa's Hernic Ferrochrome, a unit of Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, said that it has reached an agreement with unions for a 9% across the board wage increase for 2010 to 2011.

Hernic, the world's fourth largest producer of ferrochrome said in statement that uncertain market conditions had created a difficult negotiating environment.
