International Stainless Steel Forum indicated during the meeting held by British Stainless Steel Association that it is predicted that the global stainless steel consumption would rise by 8.3% in 2011. Also, the increase rate in 2012 would be similar to that in 2011.

The main consumption will be contributed by the strong demand from automobile industrial and rising long products.

Besides, Japan’s earthquake and North Africa's unstable political situation will also influence the performance of stainless steel consumption.
