Ivanhoe Australia has announced that drilling on the high grade Merlin molybdenum and rhenium deposit has revealed a number of new high grade intercepts.

It said that the intercepts included an intersection of almost pure molybdenite mineralization. It added that recent drilling on the eastern flank of the Merlin mineralization has extended the mineralized zone down dip to a depth of 500 meters below surface.

Ivanhoe said that of particular technical interest is an intersection in hole MDQ0264 identified mineralization which is of higher grade and purity than any molybdenite mineralization identified to date on the Merlin project.
