
According to statistics, Japan produced 296,870 tonnes of crude stainless steel in September, decreased by 8% MoM in comparison of 316,062 tonnes in August 2011.
Among them, JFE Steel produced 74,053 tonnes, down by 3% MoM; Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corporation had 61,908 tonnes, dropped by 32% MoM; Nisshin Steel had 52,092 tonnes, up by 3% MoM; Nippon Steel had 36,966 tonnes, down by 7% MoM; Nippon Yakin Kogyo Co had 23,990 tonnes, rose by 11% MoM; Nippon Metal Industry had 21,960 tonnes, up by 4% MoM and Sumitomo Metals had 19,718 tonnes, surged by 20% MoM.
Meanwhile, the country's crude stainless steel output in the first nine months of 2011 hiked by 3.4% YoY to reach 2.744 million tonnes.
